Karina Cicero

Prosecutor before the Administrative and Tax Appeals Court of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and Associate Professor at the University of Buenos Aires School of Law

She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and a postgraduate specialization in Economic Administrative Law from Universidad Austral. At the University of Buenos Aires School of Law, she is a tenured Associate Professor of Administrative Law at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In the Master’s Program in Economic Administrative Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina, she is responsible for thesis workshops and tutoring sessions aimed at supporting students in the preparation of their final research papers. She is also a guest lecturer in numerous postgraduate programs at academic institutions in Argentina and abroad.

She is a member of the Academic Committee of the Postgraduate Specialization in Legal Counsel for Universities at UBA and a member of the Ibero-American Network for Legal Education.

She is the editor of a collection of annotated national administrative legislation, as well as the author of four books and numerous publications on administrative law and university-level legal education, published in Argentina and abroad.

Her current research focuses on State liability and its treatment by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, current trends in economic regulation, and the application of new technologies to legal education. Since 2013, she has served as a prosecutor before the Administrative and Tax Appeals Court of the City of Buenos Aires, and she previously served as a judge and as a first-instance court clerk within the same jurisdiction.

She is also a certified English-language public translator from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
