Mariana Lozza

Independent Arbitrator and Specialist in International Arbitration and Disputes Involving States

Mariana is an independent arbitrator and of counsel at Dechamps International Law. She has nearly twenty years of experience in public international law and international arbitration involving States, acting in proceedings under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

She holds a law degree from the National University of the South (Argentina) and an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law.

For fifteen years, she represented the Argentine Republic in dozens of international investment arbitrations, annulment proceedings, and enforcement actions. From 2021 to 2025, she led Argentina’s legal defense team in investment arbitration matters. Previously, she served as Partner and Head of International Arbitration for Latin America at DLA Piper and worked as a Senior Associate at two leading international arbitration boutiques.

In academia, she teaches Investment Arbitration and Public International Law at the University of Buenos Aires and Torcuato Di Tella University. She is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and seminars.
