Annamaria La Chimia

Director of the Public Procurement Research Group- School of Law University of Nottingham.

She holds the Chair in Law and Development and serves as Director of the Public Procurement Research Group at the University of Nottingham. She is also a research fellow at Stellenbosch University and a member of the IEL Collective Steering Committee. She has played a leading role in promoting equality and diversity at the University of Nottingham and has spearheaded interdisciplinary research on law and justice.

She served as an advisor to prominent international organizations, including the World Bank, the European Commission, the OECD, and GIZ, with a particular focus on gender-responsive public procurement and food security. Notably, she was the lead author of key World Bank reports on gender-sensitive public procurement.

Professor La Chimia has held visiting professorships at distinguished institutions in Rome, Milan, Copenhagen, and Cape Town. Her extensive body of research includes numerous books and scholarly publications on aid effectiveness, food security, sustainable procurement, procurement in development aid, and procurement by multilateral and bilateral donors.
